Flynn & Lynch are delighted to sponsor the Longford Junior Football Championship and wish all the teams the best of luck.
Plans have been finalised for this year’s Longford GAA Annual Race Day, with the ever-popular event taking place on Wednesday, April 30.
“The key to the success of this day is that Longford people all over the world, and people with Longford connections, come together to celebrate the GAA in our county,” explained the chairman of the organising committee, Martin Skelly. “They can renew old acquaintances, and hopefully, if the results are right, make a few quid!”
The event will take place on Gold Cup Day at Punchestown, and there will be plenty of entertainment on offer for those attending.
“There will be a four-course meal with hot refreshments served later in the afternoon, and Mick Flavin will be performing after the racing finishes,” Mr Skelly continued. “Guests will also receive a free race card and a free €10 bet, and there will be a raffle with fantastic prizes, including weekends away and tickets to the All-Ireland football and hurling finals. Lunch will be served at 2pm, with the first race getting under way at 3.40pm. We will have a trackside location at the final fence, so our guests will have a great vantage point where they can enjoy all the excitement.”
In addition, this year’s race day has a new sponsors.
“Myself, John Bannon, Gerry Farrell, Anthony Dooner and the other committee members would like to welcome Flynn & Lynch Pensions & Investments Ltd as the sponsor for this year’s Race Day,” Mr Skelly said. “Enda Flynn and his family are synonymous with Clonguish and Longford GAA, and Michael Lynch has always been heavily involved with Colmcille, and is also currently involved with Ardagh St Patrick’s.
“It’s great to have a Longford company associated with the largest corporate and social event in the country.”
Mr Skelly also thanked the Longford GAA Race Day’s previous sponsors.
“We’d like to thank Michael Keenan and all at RSM Farrell Grant Sparks for their sponsorship over the previous two years,” he concluded.
